Pasochoa Project Update

Hey everyone and happy new year! I hope you're just as excited about 2017 as we are here at Vivid Roots!

2016 was an awesome year for us as well, we learned a ton, we made a bunch of new friends we got a bunch of cool new designs up on the website.

Most importantly we broke ground on our first water project that you all helped us fund! Thank you

As many of you know, the Pasochoa project will bring clean water to 350 families between three different villages which adds up to about 1500 people! We are super stoked about this.

We literally could not have done this without you!

Your support and encouragement keeps us going and in turn that helps make a difference in people's lives.

Even though you're never going to meet them, that doesn't mean that you haven't made an extremely valuable and positive impact on their lives. And that's what we're trying to do here.

 We finally made it real

The three communities benefitting from the project are Santa Rosa Cuendina, San Luis and Pasochoa. Pasochoa is in the middle, Santa Rosa Cuendina is on one side, and San Luis  is on the other. There is an existing holding tank in Pasochoa, and what they're doing is building tanks in the other villages and connect them all together as one.

The most difficult part of this project is getting those cement holding tanks completed.

They're taking advantage of the good weather they are having and focusing all of there effort on finishing those so they can move onto the next portion of the project which isn't as sensitive to weather. Once the tanks are tested and proven to be leak free, that's when the next phase of the project will begin.

From start to finish, there are so many people involved in a water project

projects like this have been extremely successful in the past for one very simple reason that many people over look and thats community involvement. By establishing small committees in each beneficiary community we can be confident that the systems will be maintained properly by members of the community so that the system works even after the engineers are gone. If the rate of progress stays the same the three holding tanks should be complete and installation of the actual pipeline connecting everything together should be underway.

The project could be done as early as February

Stay tuned for more updates and thank you so much for your support we could not do it without you. We're doing it together and if we all do a little we will change a lot, and we're proving that every day now. So let's make 2017 a great year, bring a bunch more people clean water and have a ton of fun while we're doing it! Love you all , thanks
